You have finished the build. Now the important part: where it lives. The right display makes a brick model look like a collector's piece instead of a toy on a shelf.
Wall mounts: for long silhouettes
Wall mounts suit swords, bows, axes and polearms: anything defined by its outline. Mounted horizontally at eye level, a long model reads instantly from across the room.
Why we like them
- They take no shelf or floor space.
- The whole silhouette is visible, with nothing in front of it.
- A pair of mounts can hold models up to [XX] cm safely.
Tips for mounting
- Find the balance point of the model before drilling; mount just outside it on both sides.
- Use wall plugs rated for at least three times the model's weight.
- Keep mounted models out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
Display cases: for detail and dust
Acrylic cases are best for smaller, detailed models: daggers, sci-fi sidearm props and anything with fine greebling that collects dust.
Why we like them
- No dusting, ever. Bricks stay clean and bright.
- The base lifts the model and frames it like a museum object.
- Cases are stackable on a shelf, so a collection stays tidy.
What to check
- Inner dimensions: leave at least 2 cm on every side of the model.
- UV-filtering acrylic if the shelf gets sunlight.
Stands: the in-between option
A desk stand angles the model towards you and works well on a desk or bookshelf. It is the easiest option if you like to pick the model up and look at it.
Quick answer
- Longer than 60 cm? Wall mount.
- Small and detailed? Case.
- Want it on your desk? Stand.
